Before there was a new InVenture website with 9 new micro-entrepreneurs in India - there was Griselda Flores.   

What’s her story?
When we met Griselda in 2010 we were inspired by her moral compass and sense of “purpose to serve the community,”  and rallied around her as our first micro-entrepreneur in Mexico. As a single mother of four children, Griselda single-handedly operates her own health clinic to serve the Milpa Alta community, a rural farming town south-east of Mexico City. She focuses on serving citizens in her community who do not have access to affordable health care services.

How did an InVenture InVestment help her?
In February, alongside our InVestors (all of you!), we raised and InVested $5,000 USD (60,000 MXN) in Griselda so that she could purchase an ultrasound machine. With her new machine, Griselda is now able to provide services to expecting mothers in her community who previously didn’t have the option. Even if they could afford it, they would have to travel about 2 hours out of town for these ultrasound services.  

So how is Griselda’s business doing so far?
Like any typical business adding new services, Griselda’s clinic went through an adjustment period as she started to integrate the new ultrasound services. Now, four months later, the clinic has started showing impressive and steady progress. In this month alone (June) Griselda’s clinic has provided 18 ultrasound procedures with an estimated average of serving 7 women per week. InVenture has been tracking the additional revenue Griselda has earned to date. To give you a better idea of how well she is doing see the graphs below!
