Introducing InVenture’s Inaugural India Fellows!

06/09/2011

We are excited to announce the inaugural class of our India Fellows program.  In a partnership with the National Social Entrepreneurship Foundation (NSEF), InVenture has selected two talented young men to help spearhead our Fellows program in Tamil Nadu, India.

Ankit Khandelwal will be entering his third year as an electrical engineering student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.  He is a strong computer programmer and has an interest in social entrepreneurship.  Ankit also likes playing cricket, table tennis, and practicing yoga.

Anurag Saha will be entering his third year as an information technology student at the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur.  He is also a skilled computer programmer, and is interested in applying those skills in business analytics, sales and marketing.  Anurag has also been a member of his school’s debate and quizzing teams.

Both Ankit and Anurag will be staying in Tamil Nadu for the next several weeks, helping to expand InVenture’s presence in the area.  They will be working closely with our field partner ASSCOD, on a variety of projects including; visiting InVenture’s portfolio entrepreneurs, conducting due diligence on new entrepreneurs, surveying community health initiatives, building financial models and continuing to build out InVenture’s SMS platform. Stay tuned for the exciting developments that will come from their hard-work!

This is both Ankit and Anurag’s first visit to Southern India, and the transition will be an interesting and enlightening experience for them.  We look forward to hearing more from the fellows and the amazing work they do. They will be posting their updates to our blog - so be sure to check back here soon!
